Snake is the old arcade idea in its purest form: you steer a growing line around a bounded board, eat the pieces that appear, and try not to run into anything, including your own tail. There is no story and no upgrade tree. Every round is a single run that ends the moment you make one mistake, and the only thing you carry out of it is a score.
That makes it an odd neighbour for Learn to Fly 3, and a useful one. The headline game here is about launching, watching a distance number climb and spending the result on upgrades. Snake keeps the "one more try" pull but strips out the waiting: a round takes a minute or two, and nothing you did last time makes the next round easier except your own reading of the board.
It runs in the browser with nothing to install, so it suits the gap between longer sessions on the bigger games.
How to play
Snake is normally played with the arrow keys, and the start screen of this build shows which keys it expects. Click inside the game once before you start so the keyboard input reaches it rather than the page around it.
The snake moves on its own. You only choose when to turn. Guide the head onto each food item to make the body longer and add to your score. The round ends if the head touches the edge, if the game uses walls, or any part of the snake's own body.
The challenge grows with you. Early on the board is almost empty and you can wander. Later the body takes up most of the space and every turn has to be planned a few moves ahead.
Tips
- Do not reverse. Pressing the opposite direction does nothing useful in the classic rules, so make turns in two steps when you need to double back.
- Hug the edges while the snake is short, then switch to long sweeping lanes as it grows. Tight zigzags waste the room you will need later.
- Look at where the food is before you commit to a turn, not after. Most crashes come from chasing a pellet without checking where your tail will be.
- Tap the key, do not hold it. A quick tap is easier to time than a long press when the snake is moving fast.

If you like the reflex side of Snake, Hot Air and Sky Mad are other short-run games where one slip ends the attempt. For something with a bigger payoff, Earn to Die and Burrito Bison: Launcha Libre use the same run-then-upgrade loop as Learn to Fly 3, so the progress carries more weight than a single score.
Snake suits keyboard players best, and it works well for a few minutes at a time when you want a score to beat rather than a long campaign.
Questions about Snake
Is Snake unblocked at school?
Snake runs in an ordinary browser tab from learntofly3.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.
What keys do I use in Snake?
Snake is normally steered with the arrow keys. The start screen shows the keys this build expects; click inside the game once so they register.
How does a round end?
A round ends when the snake runs into its own body or, if the board has walls, into the edge. Your score is how much food you collected.
Does Snake work on a phone or Chromebook?
It is an HTML5 game, so it runs in a modern browser on both. A keyboard is the easier way to control it.
